After losing my darling Inga, I have said to myself that I really need to draw so much more, so that I can improve my skill, to develop my own style and to learn new techniques, building the muscle memory by drawing every day.
Some days things will flow and like life some days they won’t. But without practice you can’t improve.
My ultimate goal for the rest of this year is to draw one of my cats. I feel I’m getting ready to take the plunge very soon.
I decided to change tutors so that I can learn different skills. For now I have left the Bonny Snowdon Pencil Academy, I am now learning from Becca Barron and Teresa Joy Fine Art, they both have free tutorials online on Youtube.
Here are my lovely harvest mice. I really struggled with the last section the straw, it’s better than it was, so I’m happy. It will be good to look back in a year or so and see how I’ve improved and developed.

This was drawn on
Surface – Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper
Pencils – Faber Castell Polychromos, Caran Dache Luminance and Pablo
Time it took to draw – I’d say 10 hours, I really must start to time myself.
I am really please these sweet creatures. I followed the guidance of Becca Baron for these.
Till next time,
