I joined Bonny Snowden’s pencil academy in September. I have slowly progressed along on Bonny’s Foundation Course and have just completed the final part which was the german shepherd dog, using coloured pencils.

When I started the drawing I was so apprehensive and thought there is no way I will ever be able to draw this but with Bonny’s wonderful teaching approach I have managed to actually do it. Kudos to Bonny, she is truly an amazing mentor.

I have learnt so much along the way, it has fired up my desire to continue my learning journey and I hope in the near future that I will have the confidence and self belief that I will be able to draw more animal portraits, entirely on my own without any tutorials.

  1. Wow, this German Shepherd drawing is simply stunning! The use of colored pencils really brings out the intricate details and beautifully captures the essence of the breed. The artist’s skill and attention to detail are truly commendable. I can’t help but feel a connection with the subject, as if this beautiful dog is right in front of me. Keep up the amazing work!
